A Birthchart is a mini representation of the location of the planets at the time of your birth. Nowadays computer programmes help Astrologers make these charts more easily.Here is what a birth chart looks like with the programme I use.The red spots represent the planets on the date of birth, the yellow ones are on the date I made this chart. This person is Sun-sign Scorpio, with Moon in the sign of Pisces and a Virgo Ascendant. These 3 pieces of information are the most important parts of a birth chart.
In a consultation we work with any questions you may have. With the help of Astrology, I can tell you where your strengths and weaknesses lie, what you're good at, how you relate to others, (especially in personal relationships) and is a pictorial map of your energies. There are as many methods of getting this information as there are stars in the sky and a chart can even be drawn up to ask specific questions. This is called Horary Astrology.

In the old days it took a lot of time and research to make a chart. A book called an Ephemeris was used to look-up the locations and degrees of each planet. This book belonged to my Auntie and you can just see my date of birth listed at the top...The planets are listed down the side as little symbols and it is divided into the months of the year. Then next to each date is another symbol representing the sign the planet is in. The trick is to read off the correct symbol/sign etc and not forget that these degrees will all change if the person was born in a different location. My maths isn't great and I didn't get seriously interested in Astrology until computer programmes were invented. Because of this need to know maths and be able to work out complicated degrees, Astrology was originally only practised by learned, educated individuals. With the advent of computer programmes all that has changed.
However, the skills needed to interpret a chart and be able to convey that information to clients takes years of practice.
